Lao Tzu by Mark di Suvero
Lao-Tzu was made by the artist in his Long Island studio from 1991 to 1994; it was purchased by the Denver Art Museum in 1995 and trucked in pieces to its new site, where di Suvero rearranged the huge elements with a crane to create this massive example of public art. It weighs a measly 16 tons, and I thought I was fat ! 😉
